Greg Atkins is a documentary filmmaker. He uncovers the human story and tells it in a way people feel.

He began in live broadcast with the BBC and GMTV before moving into long-form filmmaking, drawn to real lives, real places, and the moments that reveal something deeper.

Since founding Greg Atkins Productions in 2009, his work has ranged from UK stories to international projects with organisations including the World Health Organisation and Ofcom.

His films are built through long observation and close relationships with the people at their centre. The approach is always the same: let the human story lead.

He is currently completing Cuban Soul, a feature documentary following David Soul’s attempt to restore Ernest Hemingway’s 1955 Chrysler in Cuba — a story that becomes about far more than the car itself.

Greg lives and works in the UK and continues to develop documentary projects around the world.

How I work

Every project is different. I build the right team for the story.

Over time, I’ve developed a network of producers, cinematographers, editors and composers. Depending on the project, I bring in the people needed to do it properly.

Sometimes that means a small crew embedded in the story. Sometimes it requires something larger and more specialist. The goal is always the same: stay flexible, stay focused, and protect the story.

Greg Atkins Productions operates as a director-led model, allowing each film to scale as needed.
